We're excited to share that Waxberg's Walk Shoppe is changing its name to Stan's Shoes!
Along with a new name, we're giving the store a fresh new look with a remodel designed to create an even better shopping experience. You'll notice updated fixtures, improved displays, refreshed interiors, and exciting new features throughout the store.
While the store may look different, our commitment to helping you find the right shoes and delivering exceptional service remains stronger than ever.
Why is the name changing?
For generations, Waxberg's Walk Shoppe has been a trusted destination for quality footwear and personalized service. The Midwest Shoe Merchants Family acquired Waxberg’s in 2022 and we have continued to evolve the Waxberg’s concept into our Midwest Shoe Merchants way of business. To make the experience more consistent and bring the best level of service to you, Stan’s Shoes will bring you a fresh experience. How does it affect me?
For most customers, very little will change.
You'll continue shopping with the same knowledgeable team, finding many of the same trusted brands, and receiving the personalized service you've come to expect. The biggest differences will be a refreshed store environment and exciting enhancements to your shopping experience.
Did the store have new owners? Is it the same company?
No. Waxberg's has not been sold.
Midwest Shoe Merchants acquired Waxberg’s Walk Shoppe in 2022. Two family businesses with the same values and mission of improving all of our lives from the ground up. As the Midwest Shoe Merchants and Stan’s Shoes, we will continue to grow and evolve your experience.
When will the name change to Stan’s Shoes take place and when will the store have a new look?
The transition to Stan's Shoes will take place over the coming months as we complete updates throughout the store. You'll start seeing new signage, updated branding, and improvements throughout the store as we move toward our grand reopening celebration this fall.

Will the store be closed during remodeling?
We plan to remain open throughout most of the remodeling process so we can continue serving our customers.
There may be temporary adjustments to certain areas of the store while improvements are being made, but we'll work hard to minimize any inconvenience.
Will you continue carrying the same brands and products I love?
Absolutely!
You'll continue to find many of the trusted footwear brands, styles, and products you've come to rely on. In fact, we're excited about opportunities to expand our assortment and introduce even more great products in the future.
Will Waxberg's gift cards still be accepted?
Yes! Existing Waxberg's gift cards will continue to be accepted at Stan's Shoes.
Will the Solemate Rewards Program Stay the same?
Yes! Solemate Rewards and your Rewards will remain!
You'll continue earning points, receiving rewards, and enjoying the benefits of being a SoleMate Rewards member. If you are a Solemate Rewards Member, your points, rewards, purchase history, and account information will transfer automatically. No action is required on your part.
Can I still redeem existing rewards?
Yes! Any rewards you've already earned will remain available and can be redeemed just as they are today.
Will I have to create a new online account?
No. Your existing account will continue to work, and you'll be able to access your information as usual.
Do I need to update any account information?
No updates are required at this time. If anything changes in the future, we'll make sure to let you know well in advance. Please always update us on any changes in your information so that we can best communicate with you! Email [email protected]
