Before converting your size, check which sizing system the brand follows.
European (EU) Sizes: Commonly used by brands like Birkenstock, Dansko, ECCO, and others.
UK Sizes: Commonly used by brands like Hartjes, Gabor, Hassia, and others.
European Size Conversion
EU Sizes Compared to US Sizes
EU sizing does not use half sizes and follows a numeric scale.
Women
- US 9 = EU 40
- US 8.5 to 9 = EU 39 to 40
- US 8 = EU 38 to 39
Men
- US 10 = EU 44
- US 9.5 to 10 = EU 43 to 44
- US 9 = EU 42 to 43
UK Size Conversion
UK Sizes Compared to US Sizes
UK sizing runs smaller than US sizing.
Women
- Subtract 2.5 sizes from your US size
- US 9 = UK 6.5
- US 8.5 = UK 6
Men
- Subtract 0.5 size from your US size
- US 10 = UK 9.5
- US 9.5 = UK 9
Fit Notes
UK sized comfort brands often fit slightly more generous than many US brands
If you are between sizes or have a narrower foot, consider sizing down
