What is a Pedorthist?
A pedorthist (peh-dor-thist) is a professional who has specialized training to modify footwear and employ supportive devices to address conditions which affect the feet and lower limbs.
Stan’s mission is to provide excellence in fit, service and quality. We promise to offer outstanding value, meet the footwear needs of our customers and grow as a healthy and enduring business. All of Stan’s Fit Specialists receive continuing education to stay current with the needs of each individual. We make it a priority to address the footwear and foot care needs of every individual. In addition to our Fit Specialists, Stan’s has the expertise of ABC Certified Pedorthists who are able to assist you with your needs at each location.

Stan’s Board Certified Pedorthists:
- Evaluate a client’s foot
- Are educated in foot anatomy and function
- Are educated in the use of footwear and over-the-counter orthotics to correct and accommodate foot and ankle conditions
- Fill a doctor’s recommendation and/or evaluate for over-the-counter orthotics
- Know how to work with individuals who are effected by diabetes, arthritis, sports injuries and other medical issues
- NOTE: A Board Certified C.PED is NOT a medical doctor.
Meet Our Pedorthists
Andy
Andy is a Valparaiso University graduate with a degree in Finance and International Business and a minor in Music, Andy also has a law degree from Marquette University. He became a Certified Pedorthist through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 2012.
Andy joined Midwest Shoe Merchants full time in 2011.
In his free time, Andy plays cello and serves as a board member for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and cooking them great, healthy food.
Regarding his philosophy on foot health, Andy says, “We are only made with one pair of feet, so we must take care of them. They are our body’s foundation and are keys to many health issues. By taking care of our feet, we can help our bodies work more efficiently and with less pain, which makes our work and leisure time more enjoyable. Great shoes can make such a big difference! As I tell my customers, shoes are cheap medicine and you get to pick the color.”
Ben
Ben is a Loyola University Chicago graduate with a degree in Advertising/Public Relations and International Film and Media Studies and a minor in Computer Graphics.
He is a member of The Running Industry Association and The Pedorthic Footwear Association. Ben loves to spend time outdoors, camp, coach soccer, and spend time with his family.
Ben became a Certified Pedorthist through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 2012.
Ben joined Midwest Shoe Merchants in 2002 and has worked at all of Stan’s locations, previously as manager of Goodmiles Running Company.
In his free time, Ben likes to camp, hike and kayak. He is comfortable in addressing many foot types and foot ailments.
“I enjoy helping people find the shoe that will best serve their particular function and needs,” says Ben.
Megan
Megan graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Advertising and Marketing and a minor in Music. Megan joined her Midwest Shoe Merchants full-time in 2010 and became a Certified Pedorthist through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 2012.
Megan has been named one of Milwaukee Business Journal's Most Influential Women (2023). She is also on the Milwaukee Area Technical College Marketing Committee, she has also been on many non-profit Board of Directors in the Milwaukee area.
Megan enjoyed loves to cook, travel, singing, running, practicing yoga and spend time with her family.

David
David graduated from Marquette University graduate with degrees in Finance and Marketing. David grew up working for his family’s business. He joined Midwest Shoe Merchants full-time in 2007. As a prominent member of the National Shoe Retailers Association and footwear industry. David has led the development of the great selection of footwear offered at all Midwest Shoe Merchants concepts, including private labels and direct imports from European factories. He is very well respected in the global footwear industry.
David obtained his Certified Pedorthist degree at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2008.
He says, “My favorite part of being a Certified Pedorthist is solving my customer’s foot-related issues. Between a good quality pair of shoes and a pair of orthotics we can do amazing things.”
David loves to cook, travel, walk and spend time with his family.
