Meet Our Pedorthists

What is a Pedorthist?

A pedorthist (peh-dor-thist) is a professional who has specialized training to modify footwear and employ supportive devices to address conditions which affect the feet and lower limbs.

Stan’s mission is to provide excellence in fit, service and quality. We promise to offer outstanding value, meet the footwear needs of our customers and grow as a healthy and enduring business. All of Stan’s Fit Specialists receive continuing education to stay current with the needs of each individual. We make it a priority to address the footwear and foot care needs of every individual. In addition to our Fit Specialists, Stan’s has the expertise of ABC Certified Pedorthists who are able to assist you with your needs at each location.

See our Foot Health page for common foot issues that we are able to assist with.

Stan’s Board Certified Pedorthists:

  • NOTE: A Board Certified C.PED is NOT a medical doctor.

Meet Our Pedorthists

Andy

Director of Operations for Midwest Shoe Merchants, our collection of family-owned shoe stores: Stan’s Shoes, Goodmiles Running Company, The Vionic Store and Waxberg’s Walk Shoppe

Andy Sajdak brings both business insight and clinical expertise to his leadership role at Midwest Shoe Merchants, a family-owned company dedicated to offering footwear that combines comfort and style.

A graduate of Valparaiso University, Andy earned a degree in Finance and International Business with a minor in Music. He later earned his law degree from Marquette University and became a Certified Pedorthist through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 2012. Andy joined the family business full-time in 2011 and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and commitment to foot health ever since.

Andy is passionate about helping people understand the critical role footwear plays in overall health and wellness. As he often tells customers:

"We are only made with one pair of feet, so we must take care of them. They are our body’s foundation and are keys to many health issues. By taking care of our feet, we can help our bodies work more efficiently and with less pain, which makes our work and leisure time more enjoyable. Great shoes can make such a big difference! As I tell my customers, shoes are cheap medicine — and you get to pick the color."

Outside of work, Andy enjoys playing the cello and serves as a board member for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also loves cooking healthy meals and spending time with his wife and two children.

Ben

Director of Community Outreach for Midwest Shoe Merchants, our collection of family-owned shoe stores: Stan’s Shoes, Goodmiles Running Company, The Vionic Store and Waxberg’s Walk Shoppe

Ben Sajdak brings a passion for problem-solving and a love of active living to his role at Midwest Shoe Merchants. Having worked in nearly every aspect of the business — from the sales floor to store management — Ben offers hands-on expertise in matching customers with footwear that supports both comfort and performance.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, Ben earned a degree in Advertising/Public Relations and International Film and Media Studies, along with a minor in Computer Graphics. He became a Certified Pedorthist through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 2012.

Since joining Midwest Shoe Merchants in 2002, Ben has held a variety of roles across all Stan’s locations, including Store Manager of Goodmiles Running Company. His experience, combined with his training, allows him to confidently address a wide range of foot types and foot health needs.

Ben is an active member of both The Running Industry Association and the Pedorthic Footwear Association, keeping him connected to the latest innovations in footwear and foot health.

“I enjoy helping people find the shoe that will best serve their particular function and needs,” Ben says.

When he’s not at work, Ben loves spending time outdoors — camping, hiking, kayaking — coaching soccer, and making memories with his family.
