Stan's Shoes is part of Midwest Shoe Merchants’ collection of family-owned stores.
Since its inception in 1950, Midwest Shoe Merchants reliably sourced stylish and comfortable footwear for the great Milwaukee area. Today, under the stewardship of it’s third-generation family owners, Midwest Shoe Merchants is recognized as one of the nation’s top independent Shoe retailers. With 7 brick and mortar locations under 4 distinct footwear retail brands and a thriving, national e-Commerce business, Midwest Shoe Merchants proudly serves a diverse clientele from all walks of life.
Stan and Emerence Sajdak established the roots of Milwaukee’s #1 Shoe Store when they opened Stan’s Bootery on 27th Street and Oklahoma Avenue in 1950.
Jim Sajdak, Stan and Emerence’s son, stepped into the family business after graduating college to establish his vision of growing the Stan's. Jim and his wife, Susan grew the business to multiple locations. Always being innovators and risk-takers in the Footwear Industry, Jim continues to be a prominent member of the Footwear Industry.

Jim and Susan’s four children joined the business at various times after college. Today, Andy, David, Megan and Ben are all owners of Midwest Shoe Merchants.
The family-owned business and passion of improving lives from the ground up has continued over the generations.
